Vancouver Island Driving School is a locally-owned business here in Nanaimo. Jeff Near, the lead driving instructor has over 30 years of driving experience. Jeff also carries over 20 years of commercial driving experience. Our mission at Vancouver Island Driving School is to help our students learn certified driving techniques. In doing so we will teach our students how to be safe, smart and informed drivers.

Flexible Driving Lessons
We understand everyone learns a little differently, therefore we offer a unique and diverse set of professional driving instruction packages. Each of our instructors can completely customize our lesson or schedule to best suit the needs of each specific student. We do this in order to create an environment that will help enhance the quality of our student’s driving skills without sacrificing the educational environment. GLP Courses
“GLP” is the Graduated Licensing program. This is an ICBC-approved program. These students are eligible for a Six-Month Reduction off their “N”
Seniors Refresher
We offer refreshment courses for seniors. Our instructors will join you in your car. This helps you keep up-to-date with ICBC driving guidelines.
Road Test Package
This Package is available for students who Purchase a minimum of 5 lessons. Includes a review lesson prior to the test and the use of our company car.
